The Role of Women in Extension of Muharram Rituals at Naseeruddin Shah's Period

Abstract
Naseeruddin Shah's period, is a turning point in history of awakening of Iranians and extension of sciences and penetration of new thoughts, and therefore expansion of public affairs. Even though, women couldn't play their role appropriately yet. Religious rituals and costumes caused they entered to cultural and religious affairs in spite of all of obstacles. We see this especially in Muharram’s period and the mourning rituals relevant to it. Even though they have been considered as second gender, use the opportunity to play their role in managing this rituals. Here, we try to evaluate the degree of their success.
